All That & More Balloon Décor is committed to the environmental impact of our products on the community therefore, we are providing you with some information about balloons and the environment.

Chocking Hazard It is important that consumers are aware of suffocation hazards to children who may choke or suffocate on uninflated or broken balloons. Also, inhaling helium can be dangerous. It may cause death due to your lungs being filled with helium instead of oxygen. We recommend adult supervision at all times around balloons.

Latex Balloons are Biodegradable Latex is derived from rubber trees which are normally found in rain forest. Study shows that latex balloons are biodegrade at about the same rate a leaf from an oak tree. The actual degradation time will vary depending on conditions. The stress from inflating a balloon and exposure to light speeds the degrading process. This process is known as oxidation, the ‘frosting’ that makes latex balloons look as if they are losing their color.

Fly Away Balloons Latex balloons are often released on purpose or accidentally. Study shows that most of these latex balloons rise to an altitude of about 28,000 – 30,000ft, where they burst and return to earth. Animals occasionally eat these pieces of rubber however, evidence indicates that the pieces pass safely through the digestive system.
